Having worked in Asia and globally for over 30 years, Alex brings a unique perspective to development issues. In the early 1990s, he brought together a network of civil society actors, governmental bodies, industry associations, and labor groups to raise working conditions in the Thai garment sector. Later, he built up a social auditing consultancy and trained teams throughout North and Southeast Asia to conduct agricultural and manufacturing assessments. Alex also has done extensive research on the drivers of a shift to organic agriculture in Thailand. In the last two decades, Alex has carried out capacity building and research assignments for numerous multilateral organizations including the FAO, IUCN, ILO, UNDP, and USAID. Alex’s endeavors have focused on CSR/ESG/SDG advisory services, capacity building, social impact assessments, and related technical reports throughout Asia, Latin America and Africa.
